David Hughes, President and CEO of Shore Medical Center, expressed deep appreciation for the Auxiliary’s impact.

“For 85 years, the Auxiliary has been such an important part of everything Shore Medical Center has achieved, and everything we will continue to achieve,” Hughes said. “Their generosity and dedication have helped make possible countless improvements, from renovations to patient rooms, nursing stations, and flooring, to investments in new technology and the expansion of critical service lines - support that also contributes to national recognitions like Shore’s recent Top Hospital award from The Leapfrog Group. As we celebrate our 85th anniversary, it is especially meaningful to recognize that the Auxiliary has been with us every step of the way.”

Shore Medical Center is celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2026, a milestone shared with the Auxiliary, which has supported the hospital since its earliest days. Together, the hospital and its Auxiliary have grown alongside the community, united by a shared commitment to ensuring our community has access to compassionate, high-quality medical care.

“The Auxiliary’s contributions are not just financial; they represent thousands of volunteer hours, unwavering loyalty, and a deep belief in Shore’s mission,” Hughes added. “We are so grateful for all they have done and all they will continue to do for our patients, our staff, and our community.”
