Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, but early detection can significantly improve survival. To help detect lung cancer at its earlies and most treatable stages, Shore Medical Center, a proud member of the Penn Cancer Network, is offering free lung cancer screening consultations for eligible individuals on Saturday, March 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shore Cancer Center in Somers Point.
Consultations will be conducted by Julianne Jackson, PA-C, of Shore Physicians Group. During the appointment, participants will undergo a risk assessment and determine eligibility for a Low Dose CT (LDCT) scan. Eligible individuals will then be scheduled for a free LDCT scan at Advanced Shore Imaging Associates in Northfield at a later date convenient for them.
Screenings are recommended for adults ages 50 to 80 who are current smokers or who have quit within the past 15 years and have a 20 pack-year smoking history (for example, smoking one pack per day for 20 years or two packs per day for 10 years). Both the consultation and, if eligible, the LDCT scan will be provided at no cost to participants.
Appointments are required and space is limited. Individuals who meet the criteria and wish to participate should call 609-653-3923 to schedule their consultation. Shore Medical Center is proud to partner with Advanced Shore Imaging Associates and Shore Physicians Group to provide this potentially life-saving service to our community.
