Shore Medical Center Names Jeannette Alcantara, RN, BSN, February 2026 Guardian Angel of the Month

Shore Medical Center has named Jeannette Alcantara, RN, BSN, of Mays Landing, NJ, its February 2026 Guardian Angel of the Month for providing compassionate and exceptional patient care. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to provide patients and families with a meaningful way to say “thank you” to a special Shore caregiver through a donation made in their honor.

A registered nurse on 5 Stainton, Alcantara has been part of the Shore Medical Center team since March 2018. Known for her warm demeanor and steady presence, she consistently ensures patients feel comfortable, respected, and truly cared for during vulnerable moments.

A grateful patient who honored Alcantara with a Guardian Angel recognition shared:

“I had a very difficult night and was feeling miserable and vulnerable. Jeannette showed exceptional kindness and compassion, taking the time to make sure I was comfortable, clean and cared for. I am incredibly grateful for the dignity and humanity Jeannette showed me.”

In addition to her bedside care, Alcantara plays an important role supporting her unit and fellow nurses. She regularly precepts new nurses, helping them build confidence and clinical skills, and has seamlessly stepped into the charge nurse role—providing guidance, encouragement, and leadership while fostering trust across her team.

“Jeannette brings positive energy to 5 Stainton,” said Jennifer Cressey, BSN, RN, Administrative Director of Nursing. “She is always smiling, willing to help her peers, and provides exceptional care to her patients. Watching her grow as a preceptor and charge nurse has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to see where she continues to grow in 2026.”

Colleagues describe Alcantara as compassionate, dependable, and deeply committed to both her patients and her team. She is someone who consistently leads with kindness and professionalism.

Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program allows patients and families to recognize any Shore caregiver who made a meaningful difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are honored among their peers and receive a Guardian Angel pin during Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
