Local Veteran Jim Donahue honored at the 19th Annual "Brutus" Fluke Tournament

On Saturday, June 10, the Egg Harbor Twp Elks Lodge # 2563 and Somers Point American Veterans Post #911 held their 19th Annual "Brutus" Fluke Tournament.  The event committee dedicated the 2017 tournament to the memory of its co-chair for many years, Jim Donahue.

Jim was the commander of AMVETS Post 911 in Somers Point which he co-founded, a member and former commander of the VFW of Somers Point, an active member of the Legion, Elks, Knights of Columbus, United States Submarine Veterans, Inc., Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Korean War Veterans Association. Jim served honorably in the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force and was awarded the Air Force commendation medal.

This hosted by and benefits the charitable works of Egg Harbor Twp Elks Lodge # 2563 and Somers Point American Veterans Post #911. This tournament is held annually in memory of Walter “Brute” Gregory, Sr.
