Senior Clinical Applications Architect Karen West Named Shore Medical Center’s November Employee of the Month

December 04, 2015

For consistently delivering outstanding, patient-centered service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s Mission, Vision and Values, Shore is proud to announce that Senior Clinical Applications Architect Karen West has been named the medical center’s November 2015 Employee of the Month.

West joined the organization in July of 1981 as a radiographic technologist, and has enjoyed a wide-ranging career at Shore. No matter her role – and she has held several, including lead technologist, clinical instructor of the School of Radiologic Technology and Cerner RIS coordinator – she has done it well and led by example.

“Karen is a pleasure to have on our team,” said Business Delivery Manager Joanne Henry, PMP. “She will never pass by a visitor without a greeting and asking if they need assistance. If the visitor is lost, Karen personally escorts them to their destination instead of providing directions. She treats her co-workers with the same thoughtfulness and respect.”

Throughout her tenure at Shore, West has been a selfless proponent of teamwork. When a network outage happened on a recent Sunday, she made sure she was on-site to provide as much end-user support as needed.

West lives in Northfield, NJ, with her husband Peter. Married for 34 years, they have three grown children. When not working, West enjoys reading and traveling. Being named Employee of the Month has been a wonderful surprise.

“I’m fortunate to work with so many talented and caring individuals,” she said. “Each of us possess talents that blend together to provide our patients with an exceptional patient experience.”
